Striving for excellence in customer service
Providing excellent service is at the core of our mission, as emphasized in our Future Guelph Strategic Plan. In 2024, our commitment to service excellence and the implementation of our Service Simplified strategy led to significant customer service improvements.
The City of Guelph maintains a AAA credit rating in 2024
The City of Guelph has retained its AAA credit rating from S&P Global Ratings for the third consecutive year, reflecting its strong economy, sound financial management, and effective budgeting. This aligns directly with the strategic plan of “Foundations – maintaining a healthy financial position”.
Affirming the City’s commitment to reconciliation
The City of Guelph is committed to reconciliation with Indigenous peoples. Reconciliation is an important and necessary step toward healing past injustices, repairing relationships, and creating a more just and inclusive community.
City consistently considered a top employer
The City of Guelph is consistently considered a top employer in the region, with Mediacorp Canada Inc.’s Canada’s Top 100 Employers project naming the organization one of the Waterloo Area’s Top Employers for four straight years, and one of Southwestern Ontario’s Top Employers both years the category has existed. The City’s workplace offerings in 2024 secured both designations for 2025.
$60.9 million in grant funding secured in 2024
Grants and funding from other levels of government are essential for supporting affordability in local government. They allow cities like Guelph to finance critical infrastructure projects. These funds help with the repair and upgrade of essential services like roads, underground infrastructure, community facilities and much more.
